Singer-songwriters are used to writing about their own experiences, so when local artist Crocqhenri Lucero was approached by ovarian cancer foundation Teal Wings of Hope to pen a song for them, he was more than prepared to.

“I was approached by the amazing Teal Wings of Hope (www.tealwingsofhope.com.au) to write a song to help inspire, motivate, comfort and encourage the women touched by this debilitating disease, and all the people around them,” says Crocq. “I lost someone very close to me to ovarian cancer so it is something truly close to my heart. This song “Teal Wings Of Hope” is a dedication not only to my beautiful Auntie Margaret Marjoribanks, my uncle, my cousins and our whole family, but to all the families that are facing this awful disease.”

Ovarian Cancer is a silent killer of women all over the world. In Australia, National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month is observed in February, and World Ovarian Cancer Day is May 8. Last year, U.S.A. President Obama declared September as American Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and Teal Wings of Hope have decided to also mark this month of awareness by re-releasing their namesake single in an effort to continue to give this condition a voice.

Teal Wings of Hope focus specifically on expanding public awareness of recognising the early symptoms of ovarian cancer and the importance of knowing your family history. Please help spread the word in this very accessible way by enjoying the song and sending to a loved one or friend. Hopefully, through raising awareness and sending love and compassion, we will one day be able to beat ovarian cancer. All proceeds donated to the Teal Wings of Hope foundation.
